 | Spain's biggest hair salon and beauty group, Marco Aldany, has hired a property agent to look for locations in the UK to open a chain that could stretch to 200 outlets.
Capital Retail is talking to five landlords in central London to search for salons of up to 2,000 sq ft, with the rest of the UK to follow.
Founded in Spain in 1997, the UK business will be run by its chief financial officer, Borja Márquez, and chief executive officer, Joaquí López-Chicheri. The family-owned business has more than 400 stores in Spain and has salons in Luxembourg, Poland and Peru, and new ones are being planned for the US, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Mr Márquez said: "Despite difficult economic times, London is one of the best markets. It is the most competitive, but it is one of the best."
